Helpful General Books

Sometimes the most helpful source is a course textbook.  Textbooks often address areas of controversy in the law in the notes which follow instructive cases or in the supplements issued to update the textbook edition.  Perusal of a topic casebook /textbook can be a great place to start.  Use the MLIC online catalog with a keyword search such as: "evidence (or any other topic word) and cases " to get a list of casebooks on the MLIC shelves.

To find other book titles use the online catalog with subjects such as:

Legal composition
Academic writing
Law - United States - Language
