Preparing for the Bar Exam

Guide to the Bar Exam
Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) will be a requirement for bar admission in most states you want to practice in. The MPRE covers issues of ethics and professional responsibility.  The MPRE is a 60-question, multiple-choice exam that involves hypothetical questions/situations that tests your ability to make ethical decisions as a legal professional.

Per the NCBE, the MPRE is administered three times each year in March, August and November. Click here to find up-to-date MPRE registration steps, deadlines, exam dates and fees.

We recommend taking the MPRE between your 2L and 3L year. This allows time to retake the exam if you don’t attain a passing score.
